Indian spec 2017 Hyundai Verna teaser surfaces, reveals LED DRLs & grille

Reported to launch in the second half of August.

Hyundai India issued the first teaser of the third-gen Hyundai Verna today which grants us a glimpse of its front fascia. A microsite for the same is now live for enthusiastic viewers to register and receive info.

The teaser reveals the LED DRLs, hexagonal grille and round fog lamps, which are identical to the North American-spec Hyundai Accent rather than the Chinese-spec Hyundai Verna. Its exterior is based on Hyundai’s latest iteration of the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, and will measure 4,385 mm in length, 1,729 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height, and a wheelbase spanning 2,580 mm.

Compared to the outgoing 'Fluidic' Verna, the car will have a 10 mm longer wheelbase, 29 mm wider body and an overall length increased by 15 mm.

The interior is yet to be seen uncovered, but spy shots revealed that it continues with the dual tone beige and black colour combo with a layout akin to the Accent. Features one can expect include a 7-inch touchscreen AVN unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new Supervision instrument cluster and multi-info display, chunkier leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise control and infotainment buttons, automatic ‘Clean Air’ climate control, rear parking sensors and camera, dual airbags and ABS as standard across the range.

For the range-topping SX(O) grade, Hyundai could offer side and curtain airbags, Auto-dimming mirrors, HID headlamps with auto function, LED taillamps, and 16-inch diamond cut alloy rims as standard.

The new Verna is expected to hit showrooms in India in the second half of August. Prices are expected to be slightly higher than the current car, which retails between INR 7.95 lakh to INR 13.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
