India-made Ford Ka+ sedan spotted testing in Turkey

To push the Ford Ka+ Sedan's volumes further up, Ford Motor is exploring new markets for the compact sedan. Spy shots posted by Trlux on Instagram shows that the company has started testing the Ford Ka+ Sedan in Turkey, signaling its intent. Except for Brazil and its neighbours, the Ka twin's export base is Ford India's plant in Sanand, Gujarat.

The Ford Ka+ Sedan, first introduced in Brazil, is sold as the Ford Aspire in India and as Ford Figo Sedan in other markets. In India, it has a sub-4 metre body for lower taxes, while in the international markets, a 4.3 metre-long body offers more boot space and proportions of a proper sedan.

The Ford Ka+ Sedan (Ford Aspire) is offered with the 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine that produces 64.7 kW (86.73 hp) and 112 Nm of torque, the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine that develops 82.3 kW (110.32 hp) and 136 Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine good for 73.8 kW (98.93 hp) and 215 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.

In Turkey, Ford does not offer the Ford Ka+ (Ford Figo Hatchback). The Ford Fiesta is the smallest model offered, which will make the Ka+ the entry-level vehicle. If the Ka+ makes it to the Turkish showrooms, it will compete with the Renault Symbol, Citroen C-Elysée, Fiat Linea and the Peugeot 301.
