Jeep has revealed the Indian-spec 2017 Jeep Compass in a product introduction video. The company has also launched a registration web page for customers to receive updates on the future model.

Set to arrive in India on 12 April 2017, the 2017 Jeep Compass is already on sale internationally. The new generation Jeep Compass is underpinned by the Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X's Small-Wide 4X4 platform.

The all-new Jeep Compass measures 4,410 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,630 mm. International markets get it with five engine options, but the Indian-spec version should get only two, probably the 1.4 FIRE MultiAir 2 petrol and 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel turbocharged units. Global markets get the 1.4-litre engine with 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission in the 4x2 model and 9-speed automatic transmission in the 4x4 model. The 2.0-litre engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, with the 9-speed automatic transmission optional in the 4x4 model.

The 2017 Jeep Compass is offered in Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk grades internationally, but reports say that the configuration frozen for India does not include the Trailhawk. Projector-beam headlamps with LED signature lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED signature tail lamps, power liftgate, dual-pane sunroof, 7.0-inch full colour LED instrument cluster, Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and 9-speaker BeatsAudio Premium II audio system with a 12-channel amplifier and a subwoofer are some of the noteworthy features of the all-new Compass.
