India-bound Honda Africa Twin showcased at BIMS 2017

The Honda Africa Twin is set to be introduced in India as a CKD.

Honda Thailand has showcased the 2017 Honda Africa Twin at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2017.

The bike gets switchable, 3 level Honda Torque Control System. The Honda Africa Twin is suspended over 45 mm, long travel fully adjustable forks up front and monoshock in the rear with similar levels of adjustability. The bike gets 43-degree steering lock and the seat is adjustable as well.

Brakes in the 2017 Honda Africa Twin include 310mm dual wave floating hydraulic disc with aluminium hub and radial fit 4-piston calliper and sintered metal pads up front and a 256mm wave hydraulic disc with 2-piston calliper and sintered metal pads in the rear. It also gets a 21-inch wheel in the front to tackle the obstacles and a 150/70 section 18 inch wheel in the rear.

Powering the 2017 Honda Africa Twin is a 998 cc in-line twin-cylinder mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 95 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm (an improvement of around 2 PS) and 98 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. A 6-speed DCT (dual clutch automatic) version is also on offer.

The Honda Africa Twin will be making its way to the Indian shores by August 2017.
