The Hero Karizma was first introduced in 2003.

Mumbai-based motorcycle customiser, Ballard Customs, has modified a 2011 Hero Karizma to emerge as a cafe racer. Unlike most modifications featured in Indian Autos Blog, this is a built by a hobbyist.

The Hero Karizma has been modified by Mumbai-based Ballard Customs as a cafe racer with a new fuel tank and minimalist flamboyance.

This one though does not look any less striking. The spartan motorcycle gets a new fuel tank and the brown seat adds to the charm. The exhaust setup too has been reworked a bit. The alloy wheels are the same but the tyres are of a higher specification.

The Hero Karizma in stock form is powered by a 223 cc air-cooled, single cylinder mill sourced from Honda. The carburetted engine is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox and is capable of producing 19.2 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 19.35 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm.

Braking in the standard Hero Karizma is taken care by a 276 mm disc up front and a 130 mm drum unit in the rear. A fuel injected, faired version, the Hero Karizma ZMR is also on offer which produces 20 bhp of power and 19.7 Nm of torque. This one even gets a 240 mm rear disc brake.

From being a cult motorcycle of the 2000s, the Hero Karizma is one of the largely forgotten motorcycles in the market. The company is expected to bring out a new Hero Karizma in the future.
