Maruti Suzuki has over 2,000 dealerships now - Report

India's largest automaker Maruti Suzuki has now reached a new milestone. According to a fresh report from The Economic Times, the company has over 2,000 dealerships across India.

Maruti Suzuki added 200 dealerships annually on an average in the last five years. From 1,100 dealerships in 2011-12, the number has increased to 2,007 outlets in 2016-17. The company has presence in 1,643 cities and towns nationwide. On January 30, 2017, the 200th NEXA showroom was inaugurated, and the plan is to expand the number of these outlets to 250 by the end of FY 2016-17.

With an aim to sell 20 lakh vehicles annually by 2020, Maruti Suzuki plans to expand its sales network to 4,000. This count includes the regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships, NEXA dealerships, commercial dealerships and Maruti True Value dealerships. The company planned to open 50 commercial dealerships to sell the Super Carry LCV by the end of 2016, and as for the Maruti True Value dealerships, the pre-owned car dealer network has 867 outlets and is present in 648 cities currently.

Maruti Suzuki will launch four new models in the next fiscal. Facelifted Maruti Ciaz, facelifted Maruti S-Cross, next-gen Maruti Dzire and next-gen Maruti Swift are probably these unannounced future models arriving in FY2017-18. The 2017 Maruti Ciaz will hit the market first, and will be sold exclusively in NEXA dealerships from April 2017. The Maruti Super Carry will go on sale nationally in the next fiscal, while the current Maruti Dzire, reports say, will move to the commercial dealerships as the next-gen Maruti Dzire Tour.
