Motorcycle Nut, will ride, preferably race anything on two wheels!
Royal Enfield is expected to launch a new twin cylinder motorcycle around March 2017.
With the Indian two-wheeler market experiencing a major jolt due to the demonisation, Royal Enfield has emerged as a gainer.
In the quarter November 2016 to January 2017, Royal Enfield sold 170,292 units going past 118,489 units sold by TVS Motor. While most manufacturers have been experiencing a drop in sales, Royal Enfield has stayed above 55,000 units a month.
Royal Enfield sold 55843, 56316 and 58133 units in November, December, January respectively while TVS sold 45359, 37316 and 35994 motorcycles during the same three months. Most of the bikes sold by TVS are commuters. Royal Enfield’s line-up consists of lifestyle products whose sales have not been affected by demonisation.
Hero MotoCorp continues to be the largest selling motorcycle brand in India followed by Bajaj and Honda respectively.
