The 790 Duke will be KTM's new middleweight streetfighter.

With middleweights around the world moving upwards to 800 cc and above, KTM had to shift their strategy from affordable single cylinders to a twin cylinder setup. Showcased first at the EICMA 2016 in prototype form, the KTM 790 Duke has reached its production ready state, reveals fresh spy shots by MoreBikes.

The KTM 790 Duke in its production form loses out on 3D printed parts and gets a new side mounted canister exhaust system.

The KTM 790 Duke gets a parallel twin-cylinder mill which is called LC8c, wherein ‘c’ stands for compact. The engine is expected to produce around 100 to 110 odd hp. Moving away from the 3D printed parts of the concept model, the production ready bike gets a new exhaust system which looks unlike any KTM roadster available on sale right now.

The tail section of the KTM 790 Duke gets a new grab rail which for some reason appears to be the only part which is not ready for series production. The headlamp console traces its origins to the LED unit seen in the new 2017 KTM Duke 390. Instrumentation console can also be shared with the present models.

The KTM 790 Duke will get a ride-by-wire and as seen in the Duke 390. Being a more premium product, the KTM 790 Duke can also be expected to get multiple riding modes. The bike is shod with upside down forks up front and a mono shock in the rear. Brakes include twin discs in the front and a single unit on the rear wheel. Dual channel ABS will be standard.
