India-made BMW G310R showcased at Motobike Istanbul

BMW Motorrad has a joint venture tie-up with TVS Motor to make sub-500 cc motorcycles.

The BMW G310R has been showcased at Motobike Istanbul. The bike has been developed by BMW Motorrad in Munich, Germany and is manufactured at TVS’ Hosur manufacturing facility.

The BMW G310R is powered by a 313 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC mill which is capable of producing 34 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox which is integrated within the engine and the bike has a top speed of 143 km/h.

The BMW G310R is suspended over 41 mm upside down forks up front and a directly hinged monoshock in the rear with adjustable preload. The Euro 4 compliant motorcycle though needs at least 95 octane petrol. The 17-inch tyres are 110/70 and 150/60 specification in the front and rear respectively.

Braking duties are overseen by a 300 mm single disc up front with four-piston fixed calliper which are radially bolted and a 240 mm disc in the rear with a single piston floating calliper. Dual channel ABS is present as standard. The BMW G310R tips the scales at 158.5 kg.

The BMW G310R is expected to be launched in Turkey later this year.
