2017 Mercedes E-Class LWB to be launched on February 28

Will be the first ever RHD long-wheelbase version.

After a year since its world premiere at NAIAS 2016 in Detroit, the 2017 Mercedes E-Class is finally set to go on sale in India this year. Mercedes India has confirmed that the 2017 Mercedes E-Class LWB will launch in India on February 28.

The fifth generation Mercedes E-Class will be sold only in the long-wheelbase variant (codename: Mercedes V213), which has been exclusive to China, so far. The E-Class LWB measures 5,065 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width (2,065 mm with mirrors open) and 1,467 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,079 mm.

The 2017 Mercedes E-Class LWB will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants in India: E 200 and E 350 d. The E 200 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which develops 135 kW and 300 Nm of torque, while the E 350 d packs a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine tuned to produce 190 kW and 620 Nm of torque. Figures may vary in the Indian-spec version. Both models feature the 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission as standard, which sends power to the rear wheels.

Recent spy shots of the India-made E Class have revealed features such as a 12 inch COMAND  infotainment system, LED ambient lighting , rear arm rests and cup holders, active city braking and Remote Parking Pilot, power-operated rear seats, standard instrument cluster with a color MID, power-operated sun blinds, and LED-powered headlamps and taillamps.
