Tata Hexa launches in India today

Tata Motors will finally introduce the Tata Hexa in India today. It will be the company's new flagship model and arrives almost 2 years after its world debut the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

The Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine and is available in an AT variant.

The Tata Hexa's bookings are already open, and it is available in three trim levels: XE, XM and XT. Two seating layouts are available to choose from across the range: 6-seat and 7-seat. The Tata Aria-based crossover measures 4,788 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,785 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

A leaked owner's manual has revealed that the Hexa XE is powered by the 2.2-litre VARICOR 320 diesel engine that develops 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission which sends power to the front wheels. The Hexa XM and Hexa XT get their power from the 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine that produces 156 PS and 400 Nm of torque. This engine can be specified with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. A four-wheel drive system is also available.

The Tata Hexa is expected to be priced between INR 12-16 lakh (ex-showroom) and available in 14 different configurations. Three accessory kits will be available: Luxe, Tuff and Expedition to personalise the crossover.
