Yamaha R15 v3.0 is expected to get a new 155 cc single cylinder SOHC mill with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA).

The test unit confirms the presence of upside-down front forks. The indicators remain the same as the Yamaha R15 v2.0 but the rear view mirrors get a new design. The bike continues with a split seat layout but the tail section is not sharp as the present version. The lineage of the rear end can be easily traced to the Yamaha R1.

The registration plate holder is also the same. The front foot peg seems to be positioned in a sportier manner in a slightly more rear set position. Reports claim that the Yamaha R15 3.0 will get the 155 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, SOHC, VVA mill sourced from the Yamaha NMax 155.

The 149 cc mill in the present version is coupled to a 6 speed gearbox and is capable of producing 17 PS of maximum at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. Variable Valve Actuation in the Yamaha v3.0 will help it churn out an ideal amount of power at low, mid or high engine revs.
