Naked roadster and the retro-classic coming next year, says Zigwheels.

Kawasaki India, apart from the 2017 Ninja 650 and Z650 is set to launch two more motorcycles for the Indian market in 2017 reports Zigwheels.

The Kawasaki Z900 has an output of 125 PS of maximum power and 98.6 Nm of peak torque, and is set to replace the Kawasaki Z800.

The Kawasaki Z800 was introduced in India back in January 2014. Since then the bike has built up a strong fan following in India thanks to its solid performance and refinement. The inline four pot was back then the cheapest 4 cylinder bike in the country and is still worth its salt.

The recently unveiled Kawasaki Z900 is set to replace the Z800 globally. Zigwheels reports that Kawasaki India too will be following the path next year. At the heart of the Kawasaki Z900 is a 948 cc inline four-cylinder mill capable of producing 125 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of peak torque at 7,700 rpm. The engine traces its origins to the Z1000 and is coupled with a 6 speed gearbox.

The report also adds that Kawasaki will be launching the W800 retro-styled motorcycle in January 2017. The company had imported the motorcycle to India and the since then the bike was displayed at the Pune dealership for gauging customer feedback. Powering the bike is a 773 cc air cooled mill coupled with a 5 speed transmission. The Euro 3 compliant engine can produce 48 PS of maximum power and a healthy 60 Nm of peak torque.

Kawasaki W800
The Euro 3 compliant Kawasaki W800 is being reportedly launched in India in January next year.

While the output figures are encouraging, the ever tightening emission norms may be a concern. All two-wheelers sold in India will have to move to BSIV compliance by April 2017. The Kawasaki W800 is being discontinued in many global markets by the end of the calendar year, and India would be among the last remaining countries to list it on sale, if introduced.
