The 2017 KTM Duke 390 that was introduced at EICMA 2017 last month is undergoing road testing in India, spy shots shared by IAB reader Rohit Karmakar reveal.
The second generation KTM Duke 390 has a new trellis frame that features a bolt-on rear subframe. With the redesign, the lightweight motorcycle has seen some increments in dimensions. While the wheelbase has been reduced by 10 mm to 1,357 mm, the seat height has been increased by 30 mm to 830 mm and the ground clearance has been increased by 15 mm to 185 mm. The new generation model weighs 149 kg, and is 10 kg heavier than the outgoing model.
The 2017 KTM Duke 390 is powered by a a 373.2 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 32 kW (44 hp) and 37 Nm of torque. It's an upgraded version of the outgoing model's engine, with 2 Nm more torque and Euro IV compliance. Other key changes brought with the full makeover include a new side-mounted exhaust system, increased tank capacity (13.4 litres), incorporation of a ride-by-wire system and larger front disc brake (320 mm).

The 2017 KTM Duke 390 will reportedly be launched in India in January 2017, and its deliveries will commence in April 2017. It will be priced nearly INR 20,000 over the outgoing model, at around INR 2.45 lakh (on-road Mumbai).
The Indian-spec version will also have ride-by-wire system and other key features will include LED headlight, LED daytime running lights consisting of 20 LEDs, colour TFT instrument panel and KTM MY RIDE for smartphone tethering.
