The Hyundai i10's cousin goes on sale in early 2017.

Kia Motors has released the first official sketches of the next gen 2017 Kia Picanto, revealing the exterior and interior changes we can expect when it is unveiled in the beginning of 2017. The Picanto will debut in Korea as the new 'Morning' before traveling the world.

The new Picanto will be unveiled in the beginning of 2017, Kia confirms.

The model sketched features sporty touches, contrasting red accents, sportier bumpers, large alloy rims and chrome-finished twin exhaust pipes, which hint at a sportier 'GT Line' variant in the works. Spyshots of the regular model have revealed new design elements like a gaping radiator grille with rounded edges, wider ‘tiger-nose’ grille, LED projector headlamps (optional) with LED DRLs, new fog lamps and C-shaped LED taillamps.

The interior of the 2017 Kia Picanto has also been revealed, which is more elegant than the outgoing model. The floating dashboard has contrast silver trim around the new HVAC vents and dashboard itself, new HVAC controls and display, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system (2-DIN audio system for lower variants), a sportier 3-spoke steering wheel and new instrument dials flanking a round multi-info display.

As it's based on the Euro-spec Hyundai i10, expect the 2017 Kia Picanto to borrow the 1.0L three-cylinder and 1.25 4-cyl petrol engines, while the GT Line model could pack a more powerful version of the above motors. Other than the standard manual gearbox options, an automatic option will also be available, as seen in the interior sketch.
