No more new products from Yamaha this year.

The Yamaha MT-03 was said to be coming to India this festive season. With the festive season now over without the naked motorcycle in showrooms, a report from carandbike has an update on it.

So far, there are no firm plans to launch the Yamaha MT-03 in India, even next year.

Citing an undisclosed source close to India Yamaha Motor, the report says that the there's no new Yamaha product arriving this year, and as for the Yamaha MT-03 specifically, that model isn't planned for India, even in 2017.

The Yamaha MT-03 is the naked version of the Yamaha R3 sold in India. The R3 itself isn't able to match up to its rivals, and given that the Indian market prefers fully-faired performance motorcycles, the MT-03 probably wouldn't make a big impact on Yamaha's business.

It's powered by a 321 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine that puts out 30.9 kW (42 PS) at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. This is the same engine employed in the R3, and routes power via a 6-speed transmission.
