VW Gol GT Concept unveiled at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show
It goes without saying that I’m a huge petrolhead and can apparently convert all my driving emotions into words you can read.
Not confirmed for production, yet.
Volkswagen Brazil has unveiled a much sportier version of the VW Gol at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. Dubbed the VW Gol GT Concept, it aims to strengthen the emotional relationship customers share with the brand’s GTI and R-line models.
It features a dynamic body kit that integrates several aero components, new bumper with a front lip spoiler and LED daytime running lights, full-LED headlamps, GTI-inspired Lava red embellishing on the grille and ORVM caps, gloss black accents, 18-inch ‘Serror’ wheels, twin exhaust pipes, dark tinted taillights and a roof spoiler. The GT Concept is finished in a ‘Grey Volcano’ metallic paintjob.
Inside, the Gol GT Concept features a flat-bottom sports steering wheel, unique air-con vents and door handles, aluminium pedals, shell-type seats, plethora of ‘GT’ badging, ‘Lava Red’ accents and contrast stitching.
VW hasn’t released technical details of the VW Gol GT Concept, but if it were to enter production in Brazil, it is likely to pack a 1.0 TSI three cylinder engine with 125 PS and 200 Nm of torque, paired with a manual or DSG gearbox.
