Royal Enfield to sees the Brazilian market with renewed vigour.
Royal Enfield will officially mark its reentry in Brazil next year, reports Brazilian media CarrosUOL.
The first dealership will be opened in Sao Paulo and turn operational in the first quarter of 2017. Royal Enfield will be importing the motorcycles from India as CBU. The line-up will include the Bullet, the Classic and the Continental GT. All three will follow the European spec model and will get electronic injection. ABS will be optional.
Arun Gopal, Head of International Business, Royal Enfield, said:
We believe in the Brazilian market potential and we want to grow, but in a sustainable way. We chose experts in the motorcycle market for this first, but eventually we want to open new stores and even have an assembly line in Brazil.
RE’s newest motorcycle, the Royal Enfield Himalayan, will launch in the country but Brazilians would have to wait until the second half of 2017 to get it.
Royal Enfield has been present in Colombia since 2014 and Latin America can be a major contributor to exports. The company, however, has refused to reveal any sales target for Brazil at the moment.
