RHD model spotted up close for the first time.
The 2017 Mercedes S-Class has been spied for the first time in RHD by mbpassionblog reader Andreas in Sindelfingen, Germany, with low camouflaging.
The 2017 Mercedes S-Class features a new three-spoke steering wheel which seems to have been inspired by that of the 2016 Mercedes E-Class. Previously, a few more changes have been noted in spy images, such as modified displays of the instrument panel and the COMAND infotainment system, addition of touch-sensitive buttons on the steering wheel, removal of the rotary dial for the infotainment system and redesign of the touchpad for the infotainment system.
On the outside, the facelift Mercedes S-Class will feature MULTIBEAM LED headlights, new radiator grille design, restyled front and rear aprons, and tweaked LED tail lights with clusters similar to that of the E-Class.
The 2017 Mercedes S-Class is said to be offered with new semi-autonomous driving tech and a range of new engines, including the OM 656 six-cylinder diesel engine tuned to develop 340 hp and 700 Nm of torque, the M176 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine, M256 six-cylinder petrol engine with a 48V electrical system and the M264 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a belt-driven 48V starter-alternator.
The facelifted Mercedes S-Class is expected to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in early March 2017.
