Renault Kwid continues its golden run with frequent new variants.

Renault today announced that its smallest vehicle in India, the Renault Kwid, has crossed sales of 1 lakh units in the Indian market.

Renault Kwid hits 1 lakh mark
The Renault Kwid has hit the 1 lakh mark since its launch last year during the festive season.

Introduced in September 2015, the Renault Kwid was the first small car to challenge Maruti Alto’s supremacy. The variant walk ranges from an 800 cc engine with a manual to a 1.0 litre motor and now an AMT version. The Renault Kwid has now become a permanent member of the top 10 selling cars and the company has promised new variant launches frequently to keep the Kwid in the news.

The Kwid’s 800 cc mill churns out 54 PS of maximum power and 72 Nm of peak torque, while the 1.0 litre version produces 68 PS of power and 91 Nm of torque, returning 23.01 km/l of fuel efficiency with the manual and 24.04 km/l with the AMT gearbox.

The price of the Kwid ranges from INR 2.65 lakhs to INR 3.74 lakhs for the 800 cc version and INR 3.83 lakhs to INR 3.96 lakhs for the 1.0 litre engine option. The Kwid AMT costs INR 4.25 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Renault Kwid front quarter launched India
Available with a 0.8 litre, 1.0 litre manual and 1.0 litre AMT variants, the Renault Kwid is now the French car maker’s best selling model in India.

With sales of 10,000+ units every month, the Renault Kwid has become the company’s best selling model in this part of the world. Recently, Renault India began exports of the car to SAARC countries and Africa.
