Could be launched in China next year.

Auto iFeng has acquired patent sketches of the Nissan Kicks SUV from the Chinese patent office. The publication speculates that it could be part of the 15 product launches that Dongfeng-Nissan is planning to execute between 2016 and 2020.

The Nissan Kicks is currently exclusive to South American as well as certain Central American markets, but Nissan officials did express interest in introducing the compact SUV to other global markets. In China, the Nissan Kicks will slot below the Qashqai, and compete against the Honda Vezel (HR-V) and Hyundai ix25, as well as a multitude of compact SUVs from local manufacturers.

The report states that the China-spec Kicks will pack a 1.2L DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine sourced from the Qashqai, which produces 86 kW and 190 Nm of peak torque, which could be available with both manual and automatic gearboxes. Like the South American model, an AWD system is unlikely to be offered.
