Jazz-based crossover to go on sale in Brazil in H1 2017.

Carblog Brazil has uploaded a video walkaround detailing the exterior design of the Honda WR-V, which made its world debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show this week. It will first launch for sale in Brazil in H1 2017, before it hits Indian shores in March 2017, reportedly.

The 'Winsome Runabout-Vehicle’ features a rugged, bolder styling that helps distance the WR-V further from the model it's based on - the Honda Fit (Honda Jazz). It has the usual pseudo-crossover touches like higher ground clearance, tough body cladding, larger rims, bolder grille garnished with chrome and roof rails. The rear-end borrows cues from the current Jazz and the 2017 Honda CR-V.

Under the hood, the WR-V is likely to pack the Honda Fit’s 1.5L FlexOne i-VTEC four cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual or CVT, which sends power to the front wheels. In the Fit, the engine produces 115 hp and 15.2 kg.m of peak torque.

In Brazil, the WR-V will slot below the Honda HR-V SUV, and rival lower variants of the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, as well as the Hyundai HB20X, VW CrossFox and Chevrolet Onix Activ.
