World premiere at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show on November 8.

Late last month, Honda released the first teaser of Brazil-spec Fit Twist's replacement - the Honda WR-V - offering a good look at the Jazz-based crossover before its world premiere at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show on November 8.

A media report said that the Honda WR-V will launch in India in March 2017.

This week Honda's released the second teaser of the car, hiding under a veil, with its DRL turned on.

In a bid to give the crossover more differentiation from the Honda Jazz (Honda Fit), Honda christened it the WR-V, and endowed it with a face that is more aggressive and rugged. Pseudo-crossover touches like increased ground clearance, tough body cladding and larger rims, are evidently part of the WR-V's making.

The Honda WR-V will hit Brazilian and other South American markets, soon after its show debut. It will employ the Fit's powertrain: a 1.5L Flex-fuel four-cylinder engine coupled to a five-speed manual or CVT, which directs power to the front wheels. In its sight will be base variants of the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster, and the Hyundai HB20X, VW CrossFox, Toyota Etios Cross and Chevrolet Onix Activ - the four popular models of this breed.

To distance the crossover version from the Jazz, Honda gives it a different name along with a tough and urban design makeover.

The WR-V is unofficially confirmed to launch in India. Reports have said that it will launch in March 2017, with 1.2 petrol and 1.5 diesel variants. It will go up against the Hyundai i20 Active, VW Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross, and the Fiat Urban Cross in India
