Motorweek has posted a few photographs of the 2017 Honda CR-V putting the all-new model's exterior and interior in daylight.
The styling of the new CR-V heads in a new direction with crisp front-end elements, aggressive headlamps with a wing-shaped LED DRL, muscular fenders, short overhang and dual exhaust.
The CR-V gets LED headlights in the top-end trim and features the Active Shutter Grille for the first time, which reduces aero drag. It comes with 18-inch aluminium wheels, Hands-Free Access Power Tailgate, High Beam Support (AHB) headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers and a plethora of Genuine Honda Accessories to add convenience or style.
Based on the Honda Civic's platform, the 2017 Honda CR-V is the first gen to feature a turbocharged engine. The 1.5-liter DOHC, direct-injected and turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder powerplant makes 190 horsepower. Regular variants get the 2.4-liter DOHC, direct-injected, naturally aspirated i-VTEC engine, and both pair to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Honda G-Shift control logic. The CR-V will be retailed in FWD and AWD variants.
The 2017 Honda CR-V has a more spacious cabin, with Honda claiming best-in-class interior space and the best rear seat legroom in its category. Taking center stage is a 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio interface with Android operating system that now features a physical volume knob as well as a Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System developed in cooperation with Garmin. The system is compatible with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto software.
Key convenience and comfort features of the 2017 Honda CR-V include remote engine start, dual-zone HVAC, heated mirrors, Electric Parking Brake (EPB), rear USB charging points, front seat with 4-way power adjustment, driver seat with 8-way power adjustment, Collision Mitigation Braking (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and pedestrian sensing capability, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with low-speed follow and Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Auto High Beam (HSS) headlights, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Information (BSI), and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM).
The new CR-V, as per a news report, comes to India next year with a high localization strategy.
