Tata Hexa to launch in January 2017

Bookings could start in the coming weeks.

Tata Motors will launch the Tata Hexa in January 2017, Mr. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors, confirmed in a recent interview. While the Hexa is ready for the market, and media activities around the product start as early as next week, the price announcement and customer deliveries will start only in January 2017. However, bookings are expected to begin in the coming weeks.

The Tata Hexa is powered by the 2.2-liter VariCOR diesel engine with 6-MT and 6-AT gearboxes.

Speaking to the Economic Times in an interview, Mr. Pareek said -

Hexa, we will be launching last quarter of this year, the first quarter of the calendar year - Jan, Feb, March. So I think January is what we are looking for.

The Tata Hexa, the company confirmed in a statement last week, will get a Super Drive Mode with four driving modes - Auto, Rough Road, Dynamic and Comfort. The Super Drive Mode will allow the driver to adjust the engine's characteristics by altering the interference level of the ESP.

The Tata Hexa will also be available in 4x2 and 4x4 variants, in 6- and 7-seat configurations. All variants will be powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder VariCOR diesel engine capable of 156 PS at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,700-2,700 rpm. 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions will be on offer.
