Bookings for Tata Hexa start in November

Several dealers have informed Indian Autos Blog that bookings for the Tata Hexa will commence in November, though deliveries and the price announcement are scheduled to take place only in January 2017. When asked about the same, a Tata Motors' spokesperson said that the company does not wish to comment in this regard.

The Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.2-liter VariCOR 400 diesel engine with 156 PS and 400 Nm on tap.

According to a report this week, the Tata Hexa will, reportedly, cost INR 17.49 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Pune for the top-end XT 4×4 MT variant and INR 17.44 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Pune for the top-end automatic variant, the XTA 4×2 AT. Both, AT and MT variants will feature a 6-speed box.

Both engine variants will use a 2.2-liter four-cylinder VariCOR diesel engine capable of 156 PS at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,700-2,700 rpm. In case of the MT variant, a Super Drive Mode will be on offer, with four driving modes - Auto, Rough Road, Dynamic and Comfort. The Super Drive Mode will allow the driver to adjust the engine's characteristics by altering the interference level of the ESP.

The Mahindra XUV500 and the Toyota Innova Crysta will be the closest competitors to the Tata Hexa. The Hexa is expected to undercut both products on the pricing front.
