Maruti Suzuki announced today that the Maruti Baleno's domestic sales have crossed one lakh units. The Baleno, one of the top selling models of the company today, was launched in India in October 2015.
The Maruti Baleno is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol model is available in six trim levels priced (ex-showroom Delhi) from INR 5,25,267 to INR 7,57,706, while the diesel model is available in four trim levels priced (ex-showroom Delhi) from INR 6,36,932 to INR 8,35,703. Noteworthy features include projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay smartphone integration compatibility, dual airbags and ABS with EBD
The petrol model is powered by the 1.2-litre VVT four-cylinder unit that produces 62 kW (83.11 hp) and 115 Nm of torque, and can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. The diesel model is powered by the 1.2-litre DDiS 190 four-cylinder unit that develops 55.2 kW (73.99 hp) and 190 Nm of torque, and can be had only with a 5-speed manual transmission.

By next month, the Maruti Baleno range will be expanded with a 'RS' variant that was showcased in concept form at Auto Expo 2016. The Maruti Baleno RS will be powered by the K10C DITC 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that churns out produces 82 kW (109.92 hp) and 170 Nm of torque (5MT)/160 Nm of torque (6AT).
