Motociclismo has yet again snapped up-close images of the BMW G310R-based adventure tourer, the BMW G310 GS, ahead of its reported debut at the EICMA 2016 in Milan, Italy, which starts on November 10.

The BMW G310 GS will borrow its engine from the BMW G310R.

The BMW G310 GS appears to borrow its design from its elder sibling, the BMW R 1200 GS. Underneath though, it is based on the G310R. It is clear to see that the design of the headlight, handlebar and instrument cluster is identical to the BMW G310R, which is expected to launch in India in the coming weeks.

In comparison to the BMW G310R, the G310 GS gets newly-designed half-fairings, the 'GS' name engraved on the fuel tank, a long-travel suspension with forks painted in a Golden shade, on/off-road tyres, a new engine cowl, and a redesigned rear with luggage mounts. A closed box can also be fitted here.

Coming to the powertrain, the BMW G310 GS will continue using the G310R's 313 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired to a six-speed transmission. The fuel-injected engine produces 34 hp and 28 Nm of torque on the naked streetbike, but could be retuned for the adventure tourer.

Similar to the BMW G310R, the BMW G310 GS will be engineered by BMW but manufactured by TVS Motor in India at its Hosur facility. In all likelihood, it will share assembly lines with the BMW G310R and the TVS Akula 310 (TVS's version of the G310R). The Royal Enfield Himalayan, which is priced at INR 1.56 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi will be the main rival for the BMW G310 GS.
