Indian launch could happen during the same period.

Volvo is working on the second generation Volvo XC60 to introduce it in 2017. According to a report from CarAdvice, the company's Australian subsidiary is expecting to launch the new Volvo XC60 in late-2017.

Volvo SPA platform
The XC60 will be the first 60-series vehicle on the Volvo SPA platorm.

The second-gen Volvo XC60 will be Swedish marque's fourth model to embody the design language introduced by the second-gen Volvo XC90 and later seen on the Volvo S90 and Volvo V90. Like the exterior, the interior too would be close to that of the XC90, first spy shots seen earlier this month suggest.

The 2017 Volvo XC60 will be the fourth model after the XC90, S90 and V90 to be underpinned by the SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) modular platform. Along with 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid powertrain will also be available this time.
