2017 Nissan X-Trail (facelift) leaks out early

Facelifted version previewed by U.S.-spec Nissan Rogue.

The 2017 Nissan X-Trail (facelift) has been previewed in the company's latest Heisman House campaign. The Nissan X-Trail is sold as the Nissan Rogue in the U.S. market, and it's about to get its mid-life facelift.

The facelifted Nissan X-Rogue apparently gets a new V-Motion grille inspired by that of the Nissan Murano, tweaked LED daytime running lights inside the headlamps, restyled bumper and new horizontal fog lamps up front. On the sides, the rocker panels seem to have chrome embellishments. The rear-end isn't visible but it is said that change(s) will include updated taillights.

The U.S.-spec 2016 Nissan Rogue is powered by the QR25DE 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine. The Nissan X-Trail is offered with the QR25DE engine, the MR20DD 2.0-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine and the R9M 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. Moreover, a hybrid variant is also available, which features the MR20DD gasoline engine with the RM31 electric motor.

The facelifted Rogue is expected to add a hybrid variant which could be powered by the same powertrain as the X-Trail Hybrid.

Being already partially revealed, the 2017 Nissan Rogue (facelift) is not far from its announcement date. As for the 2017 Nissan X-Trail (facelift), it could debut towards the end of the year.

India is going to get only the X-Trail Hybrid variant, but the market launch has reportedly been delayed to early 2017. Nissan India could launch the facelifted version directly, although nothing can be said with certainty with the global launch still pending.
