2017 Jeep Compass to come in Limited, Sport and Longitude variants

At least 5 alloy wheel patterns in store for the new Compass.

Chinese website AutoHome reports that the 2017 Jeep Compass will be made available in at least three variants - Sport, Longitude and Limited. The Sport, an entry-level variant, will be easy to identify thanks to its concealed exhaust, whereas the top-end Limited will feature a dual-tip exhaust.

Other features that the entry-level Sport trim will miss out include a panoramic sunroof, chrome enclosures for the foglights, silver skid plates, chrome lining for the windows, roof rails and rear windshield and diamond cut alloy wheels. Speaking of wheels, the 2017 Jeep Compass will be offering at least 5 different alloy wheel patterns.

To recap, the 2017 Jeep Compass will be reportedly be revealed by the end of this month at FCA's new Pernambuco assembly plant in Brazil. It is expected to enter production in China by the end of this year (Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd will manufacture the Compass at its plant in Guangzhou), and in India in H1 2017. Indian production will take place at the FCA-Tata JV plant in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra, and this plant will also export to other right-hand drive markets.

The 2017 Compass will reportedly offer 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines.

Reportedly based on the same Small-Wide platform as the Jeep Renegade, the 2017 Jeep Compass will be offered with 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, paired to 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic transmissions.
