New Hero Achiever 150 with iSmart launched at INR 61,800

Hero Motocorp today launched its fourth all-new product (without assistance from former partner, Honda), the all-new Hero Achiever 150 iSmart. Designed for 125 cc commuter upgraders, the all-new 2016 Hero Achiever 150 iSmart is referred to as a "sedan on two wheels" by Markus Braunsperger, Chief Technical Officer, Hero Motocorp.

The 2016 Hero Achiever 150 is the first 150 cc bike in India to get a auto Start-Stop system.

The 2016 Hero Achiever is priced at INR 61,800 for the drum variant and INR 62,800 for the variant with a front disc brake. All prices are ex-Showroom, New Delhi.

The 2016 Hero Achiever is powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke 150 cc engine capable of 13.4 PS at 8,000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The carbureted unit is BS-4 compliant, and gets Hero's i3S automatic start-stop system.

The 2016 Hero Achiever iSmart is based on a tubular diamond type frame and is equipped with a telescopic hydraulic shock absorber at the front and a swing arm with an adjustable shock absorber at the rear.

It gets 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear, though the disc brake variant is equipped with a 240 mm disc up-front. The commuter measures 2,060 mm in length, 763 mm in width, 1,086 mm in height, 1,290 mm in wheelbase and 160 mm in ground clearance. It has a 139 kg kerb weight, and comes with a 13 liter fuel tank.

Other features of the motorcycle include AHO (Automatic Headlight On), tubeless tyres (80/100-18 at the front and rear), side stand indicator, viscuous air cleaner element, maintenance free battery and alloy wheels. The 2016 Hero Achiever will be available in 3 colors - Noble Black, Fiery Red and Valor Grey. Additionally, a special edition Hero Achiever was launched today by Mr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO, Hero Motocorp.

The special edition Hero Achiever, which is painted in White with the Indian tri-color, celebrates 70 million customers for Hero Motocorp, and is limited to 70 units. Hero also announced that the new Achiever will be exported to 13 countries. According to the company, the 150 cc commuter segment represents 33 percent of the overall commuter segment in India.
