The Renault Kaptur shares the B0/Logan platform with the Dacia Duster (Renault Duster).

The Renault Kaptur is based on the Dacia Duster‘s B0/Logan platform and is targeted largely at developing countries. It measures 4,333 mm in length, 1,813 mm (excluding door mirrors) in width and 1,613 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,674 mm and a ground clearance of 204 mm. In Russia, Renault offers two engine options: 84 kW (112.60 hp) 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol and 105 kW (140 hp) 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol.

The Renault Kaptur is reported to be offered in Brazil only with the 2.0-litre 16V flex-fuel engine from the Renault Duster initially when it goes on sale in H1 2017. In the second half of the year, a Nissan-sourced 1.6-litre engine will be made available optionally. Both engines will be mated to a continuously variable transmission. Four-wheel drive system, however, will be available only in the 2.0-litre engine model, that too optionally.
