2016 Hyundai Elantra teased in India ahead of launch this month

Hyundai has released teaser videos and images of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra ahead of its launch in India on August 23. As the launch of the sixth generation Elantra nears, the fifth generation Elantra has been pulled off the company's Indian website.

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra is expected to be launched with two engine options in India. The petrol engine will likely be the 2.0-litre MPI four-cylinder unit that produces 149 PS (146.90 hp) and 183 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine will likely be the 1.6-litre VGT four-cylinder unit good for 136 PS (134.09 hp) and 306 Nm of torque. Transmission choices expected to be offered are 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

A Black interior scheme, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, 7- or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and HVAC vents for rear passengers are the features expected inside the new Elantra.

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra will be offered in petrol and diesel variants, with MT and AT gearboxes.

Dealerships are now accepting bookings for the 2016 Elantra for a deposit of INR 25,000. Deliveries are expected to start towards the end of this month or early next month.
