The next gen Swift is expected to launch in India in 2017.

The spyshot features the rear-end of the Swift, which seemingly looks more similar to the first gen Maruti Swift than its successor (current Swift). Revealed in leaked images, the next gen Swift has a floating roof impression, new taillamps, rear door handle in the C-pillar and new alloy rim designs. The front-end will sport a gaping grille, new headlights with projector lamps and redesigned bumper.

The 2017 Maruti Swift will be based on the Baleno's lightweight platform. It is expected to shed 50 kg from the current model’s kerb weight, improving its fuel efficiency as well as handling characteristics. The construction is also reported to be extra rigid to increase crash protection levels.
