Will offer better safety features.

More spyshots have emerged showing the Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid which is expected to launch at the Sao Paulo Motorshow this year (November 2016). Compared to the Kwid sold in India, the Kwid for South American markets gets a rear wiper, side body rub guards, new wing mirrors and optional alloy wheels.

At least one of the engine if expected to offer flex-fuel capability on the Brazilian-spec Kwid.

Under the hood, the Renault Kwid is reported to offer two three-cylinder SCe engines, one of which could have ethanol compatibility. The engines in question displace 0.8- and 1.0-liter, and the latter could also offer the convenience of an automated manual transmission (AMT).

The Renault Kwid will be made at the Alliance plant in Chennai, India, and shipped to South America in the form of SKD (Semi-knocked down kits). Aside from the minor styling change, Renault will also increase the safety quotient of the small car by offering four airbags, ABS and EBD. Currently, the Kwid sold in India offers an optional driver airbag, but none of the other safety features can be had.
