Should go on sale in India next year.

Just weeks after the second generation KTM Duke 390’s testing commenced in Europe, it was soon imported to India for further R&D work. Now, the all-new Duke 390 has been spied nearly fully undisguised at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant in Maharashtra. With the new twin headlamp design, the next-gen KTM Duke adopts a much more sophisticated front-end, although only a more detailed preview will show if the redesign is going to be polarizing or appeal to the target audience.

The next-gen Duke gets an evolutionary makeover, at least up front.

The second generation KTM Duke is expected to be powered by an updated version of the 373.2 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine from the first generation KTM Duke. In the current form, this engine contributes 36 kg to the naked motorcycle’s 139 kg dry weight, and delivers 32 kW (44 hp) and 35 Nm of torque.

This same motor is said to be employed in the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 scheduled for Q3 2016 market launch, and so, modifications should be made keeping performance for a sports cruiser as well. Incorporation of ride-by-wire technology should be one among the several key modifications to be made to the engine.

The next-gen KTM Duke 390 is expected to have its world premiere at EICMA 2016 that will be held from 8 to 13 November 2016 in Milan, Italy. An Indian launch of the all-new Duke 390 should happen sometime next year.
