Mahindra has quietly launched the 6-speed automatic variant of the Mahindra XUV500 1.99L in Delhi NCR. It is available in W6, W8 and W10 grades, and priced at INR 14.51 lakh, INR 15.94 lakh and INR 17.32 lakh respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).
Due to the ban on diesel-powered cars displacing over 2000 cc in the Delhi NCR, Mahindra downsized the 2.2L mHawk 140 engine to 1,997 cc in the XUV500 (and Scorpio). It produces 140 hp and 320 Nm in the XUV500, although it did not get the 6-speed automatic gearbox that was already available in the 2.2L variant sold in other cities, until now.
The top-end W10 grade will be equipped with features like a reversing camera with guide lines, offline GPS-guided navigation displayed on a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity, cruise control, climate control, tyre pressure monitoring, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights, start-stop button, and Mahindra’s Blue Sense system.

The XUV500 1.99 MT and AT variants could be introduced in more states such as Kerala in the near future, if their respective courts approve NGT's diesel ban. For now, it's only available in Delhi NCR.
