Aravind Jayachandran, It goes without saying that I'm a huge petrolhead and can apparently convert all my driving emotions into words you can read.
First car to roll out will be the Maruti Baleno.
Autocar Professional reports that the second car to roll out of Maruti’s new plant in Sanand, Gujarat will be the next generation Maruti Swift Dzire, which is expected to launch in the market in 2018.
The next Swift Dzire is likely to be based on the Maruti Baleno’s lightweight platform, which will also be shared with the next gen Swift. Leaked images and renderings of the Swift have revealed the exterior and interior designs that we can expect in its sub-4m sedan sibling.
Details on the engine lineup of the next gen Maruti Swift Dzire are scarce. It could continue with the 1.2 four cylinder K-Series petrol engine, while the diesel variant may get a brand new diesel engine developed by Maruti (Suzuki).
The first car to roll out of Maruti’s new plant in Sanand will be the Maruti Baleno. Production is expected to commence from January 2017, and is likely to take the load off other plants that are currently struggling to meet the demand in the market.
