2016 Honda Freed mini MPV fully revealed

Honda has dropped the first teaser of the 2016 Honda Freed MPV, which is scheduled to debut this fall. Enhancing the teaser image offers another look at the exterior design of next generation Freed.

As seen in the leaked patent images, the 2016 Honda Freed will draw cues from company's latest design philosophy, such as Honda's ‘Solid Wing face’ design that comprises of a bold chrome grille flanked by sleek headlamps with LED DRLs, a sportier bumper with a wider intake, and redesigned hood.

Although not revealed in the teaser, the rear-end features vertical wraparound taillamps repositioned towards the D-pillar, a re-profiled bumper with vertical reflectors on either side and a roof spoiler. Reports suggest the new Freed measures 4,250 mm long, 1,695 mm wide and 1,710 high.

Although not revealed in the teaser, the rear-end features vertical wraparound taillamps and a re-profiled bumper with vertical reflectors.

Honda has also not revealed any technical details of the next gen Freed with the teaser. It is expected to continue offering the 1.5L i-VTEC engine in the conventional petrol variant, while the Freed Hybrid is reported to get Honda’s newer i-DCD dual clutch hybrid system, which combines the 1.5L engine with an electric motor and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
