Under the hood, the 2016 Honda Freed will reportedly continue to offer a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine equipped with direct injection at launch, while the rumored 1.0L Turbo variant is expected to arrive at a much later time. The next gen Honda Freed hybrid replaces the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system for Honda's i-DCD dual clutch hybrid system. It combines the 1.5L engine with an electric motor and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
