Renault Kwid front three quarter left review
The results of the Renault Kwid's crash test will arrive on May 17.

According to the report's sources, the Kwid seems to have been awarded a low score, which is not surprising given its lightweight structure and the driver's airbag that comes optional in the top-end RxT grade. Apparently, Renault engineers have taken the feedback and worked on improving the safety quotient of the Renault Kwid, which could again be crash-tested.

Furthermore, the upcoming Renault Kwid 1.0L and 1.0L AMT are expected to offer dual airbags and ABS in its list of safety features. It will also be exported to other countries with the said features and perhaps some improvements to its body structure to meet the different safety regulations.

In January 2014, Global NCAP published crash test results of the Kwid's main rival, the Maruti Alto 800, which had received zero-star adult protection ratings. Since then, Maruti has been offering the Alto 800 with a driver's airbag as an option in all grades.
