Will be sold alongside current 85 PS version.

Autocar India reports that the Mahindra TUV300 will get the NuvoSport's 100 PS engine soon, and it will be sold alongside the current model that has the same engine, but produces 85 PS.

Mahindra TUV300 front quarter first drive review
The current model produces 85 PS and 230 Nm of torque from a 1.5L three cylinder mHawk engine.

The engine in question is a 1.5-liter three cylinder turbodiesel mHawk engine, which produces 85 PS/230 Nm of torque in the TUV300 and 100 PS/240 Nm in the NuvoSport. The TUV300 with the 100 PS engine is expected to quell complaints of the current 85 PS variant being underpowered. An instance supporting this is its 0-100 km/h sprint that takes a long 19.52 seconds.

In its current guise, the TUV300 is also the least powerful sub-4m SUV in its segment, whilst also being one of the heaviest. Rivals like the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport have power outputs over 90 PS from their respective turbodiesel engines.

Mahindra Nuvosport front three quarter launched
With a 100 PS engine, the price gap between the TUV300 and NuvoSport be much narrower than before.

With the introduction of the 100 PS variant, not only will the price gap between the TUV300 and NuvoSport be much narrower than before, but the only differences would then be its exterior styling and a small list of features.
