Not confirmed for launch in India.

The Jeep Renegade is not confirmed to launch in India, despite being spotted testing several times in prototype garb. Reports suggest that Jeep is testing the Renegade's Small Wide platform on Indian soil, which will underpin the Jeep C-SUV (Jeep 551).

The all-new SUV, which reports say will reuse the 'Compass' brand, will be larger than the Renegade, manufactured in India from 2017 at the Ranjangaon plant at good localization levels, and exported to other RHD markets. It will slot between the Renegade and Cherokee in other markets, and will be unveiled in Brazil in Q3 2016, shortly before going on sale there.

Jeep has imported two variants of the Renegade for testing. While both models are powered by a 2.0L Multijet diesel engine, one has a 6-speed manual and the other is equipped with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
