A global debut of the 2017 Maruti Swift is expected to take place at the Paris Motor Show this year.

The 2017 Suzuki Swift is expected to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show this year, though European sales are expected to start only in early-2017. An Indian launch could take place by H1 2017 though, as India is one of the biggest market for the hatchback. According to the company, India accounts for 54 percent of global sales of the Swift.

The 2017 Maruti Swift is expected to be based on the Baleno's lightweight aluminium-mix platform. Providing better crash safety, this platform will also reduce weight by about 50-70 kg, and therefore aid in increased fuel efficiency. The current Swift delivers 20.4 km/l (petrol) and 25.2 km/l (diesel).

Expect the turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine in addition to the DDiS or a Suzuki-developed diesel engine on the next-generation Maruti Swift.
