Reportedly undergoing tests with moveable wing elements.

Japanese magazine, Young Machine, have come out with this rendering of a 2017 Kawasaki H2 GT, based on leaked patent filings that emerged in February this year.

2017 Kawasaki H2 GT rendering
The 2017 Kawasaki H2 GT will offer better aerodynamics and downforce than the current H2.

The patent drawings and this rendering reveal an elongated front fairing, which no doubt will contribute to the aerodynamics of the motorcycle. According to one report, the 2017 Kawasaki H2 GT will also get moveable wings on either shoulder of its fairing, which will further add to its slipperiness against air.

More importantly though, these wings will improve downforce, and will be able to generate different levels of downforce based on their position. The Japanese maker has already started testing these wings on prototypes, says a report.

Kawasaki Ninja H2 engine at EICMA 2014
The current Kawasaki Ninja H2 develops 200 PS from its liquid-cooled engine.

The Kawasaki Ninja H2 was launched in India in April 2015 for INR 29 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. Power for the superbike comes from a liquid-cooled 998 cc inline four-cylinder supercharged engine capable of producing 200 PS at 11,000 rpm (up to 210 PS with Ram Air) and 133.5 Nm of torque at 10,500 rpm, matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The H2 GT is expected to be powered by the same engine but with further advancements.

Also expect improved brakes and tyres on the H2 GT. The regular H2 rides on 120/70 tyres at the front and 200/55 tyres at the rear, on 17-inch rims. Stopping power comes from dual semi-floating 330 mm discs at the front and a single 250 mm disc at the rear.
