Tesla Model 3 ride – Video
Sagar Parikh, I'm the international news editor at IndianAutosBlog.com. I love everything that has a steering wheel!
Confirmed to launch in India as well.
At the Tesla Model 3 unveiling event, Tesla demonstrated the car to journalists with a short ride in the car. Here’s a video from SlashGear of the Tesla Model 3 first ride. There’s a special thing about the Model 3 seen in the video, but more about that following the video embedded below.
The Tesla Model 3 seen in the video has a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup like in the Tesla Model S. Single-motor, rear-wheel drive configuration will be standard, but dual-motor setup, all-wheel drive configuration will be available optionally. With the single-motor, rear-wheel drive configuration, the Tesla Model 3 does 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in under six seconds and be driven up to 215 miles (346 km) on full charge. The dual-motor model will likely offer more driving range also with better performance.
The Tesla Model 3 is now available to order for a (reserving) price of US$1,000 and as of yesterday, 2,76,000 units have already been reserved globally. Deliveries of the new pure electric mid-size sedan will commence in late-2017. The deliveries will start with West Coast in the U.S. market, and then towards the East Coast in the same market, followed by Europe, Asia-Pacific and right-hand drive markets once production increases. In the U.S. market, the Model 3 will be priced from US$35,000.
