Diesel AT now available in lower S+ grade.

HMIL has quietly launched a petrol AT variant of the Hyundai Creta, which was previously unavailable on the India-spec Creta. Along with that, Hyundai has also introduced the diesel AT in the lower S+ grade. At the time of publishing this story, prices were unannounced for both variants.

The petrol automatic variant is available on the SX+ grade.

Until now, an automatic gearbox was only available for the Hyundai Creta 1.6 CRDi SX+, which accounts for 18 percent of the local demand. The SX+ petrol automatic variant should be significantly cheaper than its diesel counterpart, and could be appealing to customers looking for hassle-free drivability with limited running requirements. The petrol variant, like the diesel, gets a 6-speed torque-converter gearbox.

The introduction of the 1.6 CRDi with 6-speed AT in the lower Hyundai Creta S+ grade makes the diesel automatic variant of the SUV more affordable. However, customers will miss out on projector headlamps, dual tone grille, push button start, automatic climate control, and rear wiper in this variant.
