Gets closer to North American Chevrolet Colorado design-wise.

At the 2016 Bangkok International Motor Show, GM introduced the Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme concept to preview the upcoming 2016 Chevrolet Colorado (facelift). The facelifted Colorado has already been leaked in an undisguised spyshot. Now the Thai media is reporting that the facelifted Chevrolet Colorado will be launched in Thailand on 28 April.

The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado facelift was previewed by the Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme at the 2016 Bangkok International Motor Show.

With the facelift, the global Chevrolet Colorado gets closer in design to the North American Chevrolet Colorado. The front fascia has been redesigned to a great extent. The more angular, rectangular-shaped new headlamps, new dual port grille with chrome slats, new front bumper and new foglamps give the much needed refresh to the Asian mid-size pick-up.

Not many changes are expected at the sides or at the rear. Inside, the facelifted Chevrolet Colorado will likely feature new HVAC vents, new centre console layout and MyLink infotainment system with an 8-inch colour touchscreen display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration compatibility.

The current Chevrolet Colorado is available with two engines: 163 hp 2.5-litre Duramax diesel and 200 hp 2.8-litre Duramax diesel.

Nothing's known about the mechanical changes to be introduced with the facelift. The current model is offered in three body styles: single-, extended- and crew-cab. Two engine options are available: a 2.5-litre Duramax (XLDE 25) diesel engine that produces 120 kW (163 hp) and 380 Nm (38.8 kg-m) of torque and a 2.8-litre Duramax (XLDE 28) diesel engine that produces 147 kW (200 hp) and 500 Nm (50.9 kg-m) of torque. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. All changes will likely be incorporated on the facelifted Holden Colorado as well.
