New Honda Civic continues testing in Brazil - Spied

South American-spec Civic to get flex-fuel engines as well.

Following the American launch late last year, the tenth generation Honda Civic is being tested in South East Asia, China, Europe, as well as in South America. In the latest, the all-new Civic has been spied testing in Brazil. The spy shots, originally put up by Noticias Automotivas, show the sedan clocking miles in Sao Paulo, ahead of its reported launch in April.

The all-new Honda Civic was launched stateside with two gasoline engines: a 2.0-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit good for 158 hp and 187 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit which makes 174 hp and 220 Nm of torque. The Brazilian report suggests that flex-fuel versions of both engines will be offered in South America. The engines will be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission.

Noteworthy features of the tenth generation Honda Civic sedan include LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, tail lights with integrated LED bars, electronic parking brake, Display Audio infotainment system with a 7-inch HD display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration compatibility, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Collision Mitigation Braking and Road Departure Mitigation.
